Place
Pemberton Trailhead in McDowell Mountain Park (Topo map). This is one of the cleanest, most beautiful
parks in the Phoenix area. We need to keep it that way. Littering is strictly forbidden.
Course Description
Six (6) washing machine* loops plus a halfaloop on the very runnable 15.4
mile Pemberton Trail. Gently rolling single track trail through the desert
surrounded by beautiful mountain views.* Alternating directions (clockwise,
counterclockwise, clock,counter, etc.) so you get to see the trailboth
ways.
Aid Stations
Every 5 miles at Coyote Camp, Jackass Junction and Javelina Jeadquarters. Fully
stocked with food and fluids. Drop bags allowed ONLY at Jackass Junction and Javelina Jeadquarters.
Crew access ONLY at Javelina Jeadquarters.
Cut Off
Loops 1 through 6 must be completed in 28 hours.
Pacers
Allowed after 4 loops or sunset, whichever comes first. Pacers must be human and on foot.
No dogs or bikes.

Weather
Could be a little toasty this year--high in the 80s. The course is exposed, so be sure to
wear sunscreen during the day. And keep hydrated. Nights cool down to the 40s or 50s.
Pets
Must be leashed. May not be pacers.
Children
Must be under adult supervision at all times.
Accomodations
Camping available at the trailhead for $12/night. Full service campground with RV
hook-ups, picnic tables, barbeque grills, flush toilets and hot showers available in the park for
$20/night.
The Comfort Inn on Shea Boulevard in Fountain Hills is the closest motel. Best rates can be foundon
